From Vancouver

From Vancouver, drive to the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal and take the ferry to Departure Bay Nanaimo. Check the BC Ferries website for sailing times and fares.

Upon arrival in Nanaimo, leave the ferry terminal and turn right at the first set of lights at Brechin Road. Drive up the hill and turn right onto Island Highway (Highway 19A). Follow the highway as it passes several shopping malls, a golf course and lake before merging with Highway 19.

Take Exit 60 westbound - also marked "Pacific Rim Highway" (Highway #4) - and follow this route for approximately 140 kilometres. On the way, you'll pass Cathedral Grove forest and the town of Port Alberni. Eventually, you'll reach the Visitor Info Centre, located at the stop sign near the coast. At this stop sign, turn right and head towards Tofino, or go left for Ucluelet.

From Victoria

From downtown Victoria, drive to Highway #1 (the Trans Canada Highway) northbound. Head north for 104 kilometres (towards Nanaimo), then merge with the Inland Island Highway as it passes Nanaimo and continues north.

Take Exit 60 westbound - also marked "Pacific Rim Highway" (Highway #4) - and follow this route for approximately 140 kilometres, passing through Cathedral Grove forest and the town of Port Alberni. Eventually, you'll reach the Visitor Info Centre at the stop sign near the coast. At this stop sign, turn right towards Tofino, or go left for Ucluelet.

From Seattle

From Seattle, drive northbound on I-5 towards the Peace Arch Border Crossing. After entering Canada, continue along the highway, which has now become Highway #99.

Take exit 28 toward Tsawwassen, and follow Highway #17 to the ferry terminal. Board the Duke Point Ferry to Nanaimo. Check the BC Ferries website for sailing times and fares.

Upon arriving at Duke Point in Nanaimo, leave the ferry terminal and follow the highway until it reaches the Island Highway. Merge onto the Island Highway Northbound, and then merge again onto the Inland Island Highway. Then continue heading north as the highway passes the city of Nanaimo.

Take Exit 60 westbound - also marked "Pacific Rim Highway" (Highway #4) - and follow this route for approximately 140 kilometres, passing through Cathedral Grove forest and the town of Port Alberni. Eventually, you'll reach the Visitor Info Centre at the stop sign near the coast. At this stop sign, turn right towards Tofino, or go left for Ucluelet.
