A short hike but good workout none-the-less. There are very few parking spots so doing this trail on an "off" day is best.

We did I route A, it was beautiful and short! We were told route B was closed by other people walking by.
We just want to know the answer to a question about the big tree of life; what is the circumference?
    Thanks!

We hiked both loops and felt deeply humbled by the majesty of the old growth forest. The boardwalks are undergoing rehabilitation and the new sections are excellent. This is a definite "must see" trail, but users should be aware that there are many stairs on the boardwalk so a reasonable level of fitness is required.

When we went in the fall trail A was closed for construction and repair and only trail B was open. The boardwalk was very rickety... with some holes where it had given way. It was clear they were working to fix the issues I'm guessing trail A was on worse shape), so by now both may be open. Although we felt nervous on the board walk ( we had a baby with us),it was an absolute highlight. It was my husband's favourite part of the trip! Hopefully the trails have been serviced so we can go back soon!

Have not hiked the trails yet, but would love to. Does anyone know if there are bears/cougars in the areas? and if so, are the trail posted at times when there are sightings?

This is just two short trails but the forest is very beautiful and we are so lucky to be able to walk in an area like this. We love taking visitors from out of town to Tofino and we always take them on the Rainforest Trail and they love it.
